Yincent, who works as paediatric nephrologist in Newcastle, knows the College well as he's been Area Officer for North England, is co-chair of our joint Medicines Committee and is a lead on our Grand Rounds webinar series.

I am delighted to serve you beginning this year which marks the 30th year of RCPCH and the 100th year of Archives of Disease in Childhood. As a recent medical history buff, I am reminded that many generations of paediatricians have in the whole found it a joy to work in paediatrics, but the lows can be very low. We have a wonderful community where we can support each other and make magic happen.
Thank you for placing your trust in me. My mission is to work with you to produce a supportive, inclusive, happy college where you feel at home - and can contribute to our collective learning and growing.
Professor Steve Turner, President of RCPCH said:
I am delighted to welcome Yincent as our new Vice President for Education and Workforce. I know that Yincent will step into role very smoothly since he knows our college well; he was Area Officer for the North for five years, is co-chair of the Medicines Committee and is a main leading lead in our Grand Rounds programme.
Steve added:
I am also very grateful to all the other applicants for applying for this post. As a membership organisation we are lucky to have so many members who want to share their experience, skills and time with our College.
Yincent will take over from Dr Jonathan Darling as of 24 May. Steve has worked closely with Jonathan over years, and particularly since he became VP.
Steve said:
Jonathan and I had known each other for many years before we started working together as senior officers, and it has been a joy to work with him over the last five years. Jonathan has been key to the successful delivery of our College’s annual conference during and after the pandemic. In addition to taking on a lead role in workforce, Jonathan has also been instrumental in the launch of RCPCH Learning, the Thrive Paediatrics project and our ‘Leading the way’ podcasts. On behalf of fellow officers and members I am hugely grateful for everything Jonathan has done for our college and wish him the very best in his next venture.
