Dr David Evans MBE

David Evans

Dr David Evans graduated in medicine from Cambridge and Oxford Universities. He trained in Paediatrics in Bristol and Leeds. He works as a Consultant Neonatologist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. He has been involved in postgraduate medical education for many years and was Head of School in Paediatrics at the Severn Deanery (Health Education England South West) until 2015. He has also been Education Associate with the General Medical Council since 2014.

His involvement with the RCPCH began as an RCPCH START Assessor in 2012. He has been START Vice-Chair (Quality Assurance), CESR committee member, RCPCH Advisory Appointment Committee (AAC) member, Assistant Officer for Specialty Training (Recruitment & Selection) and Officer for Assessment, before being elected as VP for Training and Assessment in 2016 where his responsibilities included revision of both the curriculum (RCPCH Progress implementation) and training pathway for paediatrics (Shape of training). His term as VP completed on 1 July 2021.
