Child Protection Sub Committee - Scotland

This subcommittee informs the Scottish Committee and the Standing committee on Child Protection matters pertinent to child protection in Scotland. It is a multidisciplinary committee that meets three times a year.

The Child Protection Sub Committee's function is to work with other Committees and external organisations in Scotland on setting standards for the delivery of high-quality Child Protection services in the NHS and other agencies, as well as to coordinate training and education events in Scotland.

Other meetings

Three additional meetings take place annually to address the child protection training needs of paediatricians and ensure they gain the required competencies for child protection.

Biannually, peer reviews are held to discuss four difficult or complex child protection cases enabling paediatricians to evaluate cases and learn from alternative approaches suggested by peers across Scotland.
