Update We are delighted that our work with the Myanmar Paediatric Society, supported by Unicef, won the ‘Excellence in Medical Education’ category on 1 December!
Our Head of Faculty and RCPCH member Dr Kyaw Myo who presented at the awards ceremony in Chennai, India and picked up the award said:
Thank you. It is not possible at all without the support of Myanmar Paediatric Society, RCPCH and Unicef.
Our work in Myanmar has had a broad reach, from working with clinical authorities and politicians to ensure paediatric care is a priority across Government, to improving hospital-based neonatal care. Since 2016, we have seen significant improvements in care quality and corresponding reductions in paediatric and infant mortality.
Over the past 20 years, RCPCH Global has worked with local partners, ministries of health and international development agencies in a wide range of low- and middle-income settings, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka and Cambodia. We recruit, train and support doctors, nurses and midwives to support work in these settings.
