We are very pleased to confirm that Terence Stephenson has been appointed as a member Trustee-elect. He will attend the Board of Trustees from June 2020 and formally take up his post as member Trustee in December 2020. We are delighted to welcome Terence to a new role for him at the College after his range of valued service otherwise previously, including as President. We are grateful for him agreeing to take up the position for six months as Trustee elect. This will help a great deal in providing continuity on the Board as the founder Trustees will all stand down at different points over the next eighteen months as their terms of office end.
Terence is currently Nuffield Professor at Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and Co-Director of the Children’s Policy Research Unit. He was knighted for services to Healthcare and Children's Health.
An honorary consultant at University College and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, he has co-authored seven textbooks, 275 publications and received £13 million in grants. He is Chair of England’s Health Research Authority; a past RCPCH President; Chaired the GMC and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges; an Honorary Fellow of ten Colleges in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong and Australia.
We very much look forward to his contribution to the Board.
