This evidence-based resource is on our Child Protection Portal, and is for clinicians in the UK and internationally to help inform clinical practice, procedures and professional and expert opinion in the legal system.

As an expert reviewer you will work with highly experienced paediatricians in both systematic review methodology and child protection practice, to learn critical appraisal skills to support the development of child protection clinical guidance. You will receive training to prepare and teach core skills on how to critically appraise scientific literature. You need to commit to reviewing 10 to 15 articles per year.

As a chapter reviewer, you will support RCPCH staff with updates of the systematic reviews. You will be involved in title/abstract screening, checking inclusion and exclusion decisions, reviewing the draft report and providing expert opinion. You will furthermore be involved in the updating of the Child Protection Companion with any relevant evidence.

We welcome expression of interests from UK consultant paediatricians and trainees to support the development of Child Protection Evidence (and so the Child Protection Companion). You must have been in active practice within the past five years (consultant paediatricians only).

To register interest for either role, please download complete the application form below and email to evidence@rcpch.ac.uk.
