RCPCH appoints Dr Omowunmi (Mo) Akindolie as Assistant Registrar

We are excited to welcome Dr Akindolie as the newest addition to the College's clinical leadership team.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Omowunmi (Mo) Akindolie to the position of Assistant Registrar at RCPCH.

Dr Akindolie is Consultant in Ambulatory Paediatrics at King’s College Hospital and will join the leadership team at the College from October 2020.

Mo is a graduate of the University of Newcastle and has been in post at King’s College Hospital since 2009. She has led service design projects that have reshaped paediatric provision to better meet the needs of local children and their families. Mo has overseen the introduction of the paediatric hospital at home service and a paediatric short stay unit. She has a particular interest in bridging the gap between primary and secondary paediatric care.

At the College, Mo will work alongside the President, the Registrar and Senior Officers and will focus on our governance and ethical framework, as well as relationships with external organisations including NHS England and the General Medical Council (GMC).

Dr Akindolie said:

I am honoured and absolutely delighted to join the incredible leadership team at the RCPCH, particularly at this crucial time for the health of children and young people across the four nations and globally. There are challenging times ahead of us but also significant opportunities to definitively shape the future for child health.

Professor Russell Viner, President of RCPCH, said:

We’re thrilled to have Mo on board. She’s been an active and influential participant in our work for many years and she will be a fantastic addition to the College leadership team. Her experience in reshaping services in the interest of children and young people will be invaluable to the College and the specialty in the years ahead and we are all excited by the prospect of working with her.
