Dr Macleod is a consultant paediatrician based in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and brings extensive experience in clinical leadership and advocacy for children’s health in Scotland.

She served as Secretary of the Scottish Paediatric Society for seven years, helping to strengthen collaboration and professional development across the paediatric community. Since July 2024, she has also represented her region on the RCPCH Scottish Executive Committee, contributing to national policy work, member engagement and strategic oversight.

As Officer for Scotland, Dr Macleod will provide senior leadership for the College’s work across the country, championing children and young people’s health, supporting members and shaping policy and practice alongside partners across the NHS, Government and the wider sector.

Lynn succeeds Dr Mairi Stark, who has completed her term in the role. RCPCH extends its thanks to Mairi for her dedicated service and commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people across Scotland.

Newly appointed Officer for Scotland, Dr Lynn Macleod, said:

I am honoured to take on the role of Officer for Scotland. It is a privilege to work alongside colleagues across the paediatric community to champion the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

With the Holyrood election less than three months away, this is an important and exciting moment to strengthen our voice and ensure child health remains a national priority. I look forward to building on strong foundations already in place and to ensuring the voices of children, families and our members continue to shape policy and practice.

RCPCH President, Professor Steve Turner, said:

I am delighted to see that Lynn has been appointed as our Scottish Officer. Lynn and I have worked together at the Scottish Paediatric Society for over a decade, and I know she has all the skills required. She will do a great job. Lynn will be very ably supported by our deputy officers Rebecca and Gavin, and by Gemma and Konstantina our college staff members.

I’ll finish by thanking Mairi for all that she has done for our members, their patients and all children and young people in Scotland over the last five years whilst she was Scottish Officer. With Mairi’s leadership and the team’s hard work we have engaged with parties in the forthcoming election and hope to see direct impact towards improved child health soon after the new government takes over.
