We thank John Jenkins, our outgoing Trustee

The Board of Trustees is very grateful to John Jenkins for his very engaged and committed service to the College as a member of the Board of Trustees. John stood down at the end of March 2020 having joined as a Trustee when the Board was first created at the end of 2016.
John Jenkins, RCPCH Trustee from 2016 to 2020

John, pictured above, brought great insight from his wide experience in paediatrics, including as a consultant paediatrician and a senior lecturer in child health. This was mainly in Northern Ireland with all Ireland engagement but as well as with RCPCH, GMC (General Medical Council) and many others. He continued in retirement to be active on a variety of organisations and extended his interest internationally.

John helped the Board to sustain a valued four-nation perspective on child health. We were pleased too to have his long perspective and experience as a long-standing member of RCPCH and its antecedents and to have a Senior member on the Board with us from the beginning. He was a wise and thoughtful contributor to our meetings and discussions and good at finding the right insightful question to challenge on key issues.

We are sorry that he is moving on. He was a regular and reliable attender at all our meetings despite his much greater travel challenges than other Board members. We thank him for his generous commitment to his role as a Trustee and wish him well in his well earned retirement.
