Research funding opportunities

Inviting applications for medical research that has the potential to benefit children and adults with Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T).

Supports research which focuses on child health to include problems affecting pregnancy, childbirth, babies, children and young people. Emphasis is on clinical research or research at the interface between clinical and basic science. This call also includes joint funding opportunities with Borne, DEBRA and Cystic Fibrosis Trust in areas specific to their remit.

Applications are invited from medical graduates, clinicians, bioengineers, research nurses, physiotherapists and allied health professionals who wish to train in research techniques and methodology which will lead to save and change children’s lives through medical research, developing treatments, vaccinations and cures.

To develop new or improved simple for patients, quick, inexpensive, minimally-invasive, safe and accurate diagnostic products/approaches which can differentiate between lung conditions, phenotypes of individual lung conditions and/or causes of exacerbations (e.g. to reduce exacerbations and the winter NHS burden).

These awards aim to enable world-class research teams to tackle challenges in priority areas of asthma research.

Support research which has the potential to improve the delivery of neonatal care.

Funding for clearly defined research projects addressing key questions in the field of blood cancer. The remit of the project grant scheme includes research projects that maximise the value and outcome of a clinical trial.

Particularly welcome proposals that build on previously funded BCRT work, with a clear line of sight to patient benefit. As part of this funding call, we welcome applications for funding to support: -pilot projects or requests to support small pieces of follow-on research needed to complete a project to a value of £25,000. -project grants up to a maximum value of £250,000.
