Starter grants for Clinical Lecturers. Provides support to early-career research-active clinical scientists who are at key career transition points, to gather data to strengthen their bids for longer-term fellowships and funding.

British Council for Prevention of Blindness - Research Mentorship Awards

These aim to build research links between hospitals and universities in developing countries and UK universities or NHS Trusts, with the goal of building research capacity. Awarded to enable applicants from developing countries with a colleague or mentor in the UK to work together to develop a research project.

Supports preliminary research that will contribute to a subsequent larger research grant proposal. Projects may be stand-alone or linked to one or more existing studies.
