The RCPCH START is the Specialty Trainee Assessment of Readiness for Tenure and guides trainees preparing to practice as a consultant paediatrician. Our RCPCH START - how it works page explains the assessment in detail.
We're looking for enthusiastic members to be part of the great effort in developing this assessment. So if you enjoy interacting with trainees and networking with fellow consultants, one of our roles could be for you!
Scenario generators
Join one or more of our group sessions and use your clinical experiences to help develop realistic and contextualised scenarios. These scenarios will engage and assess the knowledge and understanding of trainees.
We're looking for new scenarios in various generic and sub-specialty domains, including critical appraisal, handover, logistics and organisation, safe prescribing, ethics, conflict, mental health, equality and diversity, and children and young people's engagement. We also welcome new sub-specialty scenarios on acute and chronic clinical or professional themes.
To find out more, or if you have any ideas for scenario generation, please contact RCPCH staff or Dr S Babarao, Chair of the RCPCH START Committee on ssg@rcpch.ac.uk
