This practical two-day course allows you to understand and practice the components in designing and delivering a safe, fun and creative workshop for young people. Addressing directly the sensitivities about talking about health with young people in a group setting, this course will leave you more confident to design and deliver your own focus groups and workshops.

Overview
Develop your skills and confidence in planning and delivering safe, fun and creative workshops for young people and those that work with them. This course will use examples from the health sector to facilitate the learning but the skills are transferable to other contexts.
Who should attend?
Anyone who is interested in developing their skills to deliver interactive workshops with a clear outcome around hearing young people’s views or sharing information. The focus on this will be for those working either with young people primarily around health themes or in a health context. The aim is to develop your skills and practice in creating a safe and fun environment to learn and share experiences for your participants.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Understand the role of a facilitator / trainer
- Plan and deliver a workshop activity that meets stated learning objectives
- Understand and be able to establish a safe space for people to share and learn from each other
- Understand and use icebreakers, energisers and reflective activities appropriately.
- Confidently communicate and facilitate discussion
