NHS Long Term Plan

In January 2019, the Government published a vision for the future of the NHS in England, with ambitions for the next 10 years. They've since published the People Plan 2020/21. We present our own vision for child health and paediatrics, and look at integrated care.
The Plan contains a number of measures which will, if implemented, make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of children and help to achieve our vision for the NHS.
Published in June 2019, this is intended to guide the creation of five-year strategic plans by STPs and ICS. We summarise the key parts relevant for our members and for child health.
Over 300 young people took part in workshops, events and activities to share their views on what would support their health. We shared a full report with NHS England.

NHS People Plan 2020/21: Action for us all

This Plan, led by NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE/I) and Health Education England (HEE), recognises the impact of COVID-19 and sets out what the people of the NHS can expect from their colleagues and leaders for the rest of 2020 and into 2021.

Integrated care

The NHS Long Term Plan, along with other policy documents, emphasises the importance of integrated care and local decision making to the future of the health service. But what is integrated care, and how can you get involved in your local system to make sure children and young people's health is a priority?
