NHS Long Term Plan

What is the future of the NHS in England? The Government published this plan in January 2019, which presents a vision for the future of the NHS in England and includes ambitions for the next 10 years.
The Plan contains a number of measures which will, if implemented, make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of children and help to achieve our vision for the NHS.
Published in June 2019, this is intended to guide the creation of five-year strategic plans by STPs and ICS. We summarise the key parts relevant for our members and for child health.
Over 300 young people took part in workshops, events and activities to share their views on what would support their health. We shared a full report with NHS England.

Interim NHS People Plan

Published in June 2019, this interim Plan focuses on the challenges that are specific to the health service workforce.

It's split into five themes: making the NHS the best place to work, improving leadership culture, tackling the nursing challenge, delivering 21st century care and a new operating model for workforce.

Integrated care

The NHS Long Term Plan, along with other policy documents, emphasises the importance of integrated care and local decision making to the future of the health service. But what is integrated care, and how can you get involved in your local system to make sure children and young people's health is a priority?
