A packed agenda
Delegates came together over three days to enjoy a range of plenaries, workshops and interactive sessions exploring the breadth of work shaping child health today.
Professor Steve Turner, our College President, opened the conference with an ask to our delegates:
What will you change in your paediatric practice to improve child health?
We also heard from a range of insightful and thought-provoking plenaries including Dr Sami Timimi; Professor Sonia Saxena; and Professor Alan Emond and Dr Peter Davis. If you registered to join us, you can catch up on all plenaries and many workshops you may have missed via our conference app.
Celebrating our members and our 30th anniversary
We celebrated a key milestone for our College – our 30th anniversary! We also celebrated significant member achievements through a number of awards, including our national Paediatric Awards For Training Achievements (PAFTAs); Tony Jackson Memorial Prize; Denney Award; and James Spence Medal. We welcomed our new Honorary Fellows as well as our Visiting Fellows Awards.
This year, we also honoured children’s author Julia Donaldson CBE with our College Medal, which recognises outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to child health and wellbeing.
Networking and social activities
There were lots of opportunities to network, come together and catch up with colleagues and friends – whether by our stand, in the exhibition area or during lunch. On day two, many delegates were up bright and early for the Ride for their lives cycle or 5k social run! We hosted a welcome reception and a very special 30th anniversary dinner. Delegates were also able to take time out at our wellbeing area or sing with our daily choir.
Until next year
So again, thank you to everyone who joined us there – whether as one of our speakers, exhibitors or delegates. Next year’s conference is 19-21 May 2027 in Liverpool and online. We can’t wait to see you again!
