About the role

As an Angoff judge, you will take part in Angoff standard setting meetings for the College’s three Theory examinations: Foundation of Practice (FOP), Theory and Science (TAS) and Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP). We hold nine of these meetings each year and they run all day, from about 09:00 to 16:00.

You will attend up to two or three of these meetings each year. You'll carry out preparatory work before each meeting, then attend virtually or in person at the RCPCH building in central London. In the preparatory work and at the meetings, you will be rating each exam question for how likely it is that a borderline candidate would answer it correctly. You can find out more about the Angoff standard setting process we use.

You'll also need to participate in and complete training especially for RCPCH Angoff judges.

Eligibility

The role is open to all members and Fellows of RCPCH who:

  • have completed MRCPCH
  • are up to date with current paediatric practice
  • have some experience of College exams and/or medical education and UK paediatric training.
