Theory examinations - volunteering opportunities

We run three theory exams for our membership exam (MRCPCH) and Diploma of Child Health, and use a modified Angoff method to set standards. We're recruiting Angoff Panel Judges, a Deputy Theory Lead and Deputy Angoff Panel Leads for the Foundation of Practice exam.

The responsibility of the Angoff Panel is to undertake Angoff standard-setting meetings for the College's three theory examinations: Foundation of Practice, Theory and Science, and Applied Knowledge in Practice. The Angoff Judge role holder will carry out preparatory work in advance of the standard setting meetings, attend Angoff meetings for College Theory Examinations and participate training for Judges. 

The main function of the Theory Exam Committee is to oversee the development, provision, and quality assurance of the College’s three Theory examinations. The Deputy Theory Lead will be responsible to the Theory Lead and should have an oversight and understanding of the standard-setting methods employed by the College, as well as participate in Results Review Meetings to evolve the College Theory exam standards. The Deputy Angoff lead will sit on the Theory Exam Committee, chair the FOP Angoff standard setting meetings, as well as assist in the development of training material for Angoff judges.
