Thank you so much for electing me as your Chair of the Trainees Oversight Committee. I am delighted to be able to continue representing trainees and working with the committee and the College as we transition to Progress+ and beyond. I would like to say a huge thank you to Laura Kelly, the outgoing chair, who has done an incredible job leading the committee through a global pandemic, amongst many other things! Thank you also to the other excellent candidates who ran for this position - trainees had a difficult choice! Thank you again, I am really looking forward to taking on this role.

It brings me great pleasure to congratulate Emma Dyer on her election as Chair of the Trainee Oversight Committee and Trainee Network. It has been a real honour and privilege to lead the Trainee Oversight Committee and Trainee Network. A lot has changed in the last few years in how we work, but a common theme has been one of always striving to promote the importance of high-quality training for our paediatricians of the future. I know that Emma will continue this push to ensure high quality training for all. I have no doubt Emma will prove an adept Chair to navigate us through the final approach to Progress + and more!

I am thrilled to congratulate Emma Dyer in her election as Chair of the Trainee Oversight Committee. Our Trainees are a crucial group at the College – not just for representing the many trainees across all 4 nations, but also giving voice to some of the emerging issues we face as a profession and representing the wider workforce. Some of the most valuable insights I learn come from chance conversations with trainees or emails that pop into my Inbox. We absolutely want to keep that dialogue going and I am confident that Emma will be brilliant at leading that, as Laura Kelly, our outgoing Chair, was. My huge thanks to Laura for all her hard work over the last 3 years. She has had one of the toughest terms as Trainee Chair with all the challenges the pandemic created and I pay tribute to her for everything she achieved.
