We publish new guidance on capability based progression in paediatric training

One of the aims of Progress+ (which launched in August) that we are most excited about is the opportunity to truly embed and normalise the concept of capability based progression.

Our trainees come to paediatric training with diverse experiences and often progress through training at different rates.

Capability based progression allows the flexibility to recognise this. However, this does need to be done with good communication and within a capability framework that applies equally to all trainees whether full time or less than full time.

We have produced guidance to help schools and trainees understand the goalposts and manage progression.
