- Extended analysis report
The Extended Analysis report provides in-depth results and a summary of findings by audit measure, along with next steps and resources. This year, the report has been redesigned in an interactive HTML format, making it easier to explore and engage with the data and results.
- Reporting dashboards and unit posters
- NNAP Online: Displays validated and published results by unit, network and nation, with annual data from 2014 to 2025
- NNAP unit posters: This year, two NNAP posters are available to download:
- Partnership in neonatal care: This poster shows the neonatal unit's results for measures relating to parent and family partnership in neonatal care. We encourage you to display it in the neonatal unit to communicate selected NNAP results with parents and carers.
- Perinatal optimisation: This poster shows the neonatal unit's results for interventions that contribute to the best perinatal care for preterm infants. We encourage you to display it in antenatal or other perinatal areas, as well as the neonatal unit, to communicate selected NNAP results with parents and carers prior to a neonatal unit admission.
- Please note the NNAP posters will be available in Welsh by the end of October.
- Other reporting dashboards: The Public Access Dashboard displays results for 10 performance metrics as annual rolling averages and is updated monthly. The Restricted Access Dashboard also provides the underlying data and is visible only to neonatal units and networks.
- Report for parents and carers
Your baby's care is our parent and carer guide to the summary report. It includes some of the NNAP measures and has photos and quotes provided by parents and carers of preterm babies who received neonatal care. We encourage you to share it with families.

- About the NNAP
The National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP) assesses whether babies admitted to neonatal units receive consistently high-quality care in relation to the NNAP audit measures that are aligned to a set of professionally agreed guidelines and standards.
The NNAP also identifies variation in the provision of neonatal care at local unit, regional network and national levels and supports stakeholders to use audit data to stimulate improvement in care delivery and outcomes.
We report key outcomes of neonatal care, measures of optimal perinatal care, maternal breastmilk feeding, parental partnership, neonatal nurse staffing levels and other important care processes.
This year, for the first time, the NNAP has reported on equity in neonatal care, analysing data for areas where delivery of neonatal care interventions has differed by ethnicity.
