Our activities include evaluating the implementation of professional standards and national guidance through clinical audit and highlighting variation to support clinical improvement at local, regional and national levels.
We work in partnership with charitable and professional bodies, as well as children, young people, parents and carers with our RCPCH &Us programme.
We are currently commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) to deliver three national clinical audits as part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP):
- National Paediatric Diabetes Audit - npda@rcpch.ac.uk
- National Neonatal Audit Programme - nnap@rcpch.ac.uk
- Epilepsy12 Audit - epilepsy12@rcpch.ac.uk
We are also working with colleagues at the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN) to deliver the National Audit of Quality Standards for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (‘the PGHAN Audit’).
Over the coming months we will establish audits of quality standards published by RCPCH, and develop guidance and resources to help specialty groups and special interest groups affiliated to the College to audit against their own service standards.
