British Paediatric Surveillance Unit team
The British Paediatric Surveillance Unit (BPSU) has published its first Five-Year Report, bringing together the Unit's achievements and impact between 2021 and 2025. The report showcases how national surveillance of rare childhood conditions has informed research, policy and clinical care across the UK and Republic of Ireland. It includes highlights from BPSU-supported studies, the impact of surveillance on child health, developments in patient and public involvement, support for early-career researchers, and improvements to the BPSU surveillance programme.

This is our first multi-year report, bringing together the collective work of the Unit between 2021 and 2025, a period marked by challenges as well as innovation and transformation across child health research and clinical practice. 

It explains how the BPSU works, gives an overview of our surveillance and engagement activities and details our key studies over this period. Read and download the BPSU Five-Year Report below.
