Overview
AYPH led research highlighted a gap in ethical practice in engagement with young people in health research processes. Traditional ethical approval structures can sometimes stifle young people’s ownership or co-production of research, whilst at the same time falling short of providing guidance on how to approach patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) with young people in a safe and ethical manner.
This course provides a space to explore and understand what ethical practice looks like when involving young people in health research. We will focus on exploring common ethical dilemmas, specifically related to working with young people.
Who should attend?
Health researchers or those involved in supporting health research with young people. All career grades are welcome.
