Careers in paediatrics

Whether a paediatrician, GP, children's nurse or pharmacist, our job is to help babies, children and young people thrive. Paediatrics is a rewarding and enriching career, and offers opportunities from research to public health to volunteering overseas.
During your paediatric training, you may choose to apply for a sub-specialty, in which you can develop skills and experience in a particular area of medicine. Applications are now closed.
SPIN modules allow UK doctors, including trainees and consultants, to gain experience in an area of special interest. They can enable you to become a local lead and part of a specialist clinical network.
If you would like to come to the UK to work in paediatrics, on a short-term or long-term basis, there are several options. These depend on your experience and the amount of time you would like to spend in the UK.
