MRCPCH Clinical Committee: History Scenario Vice Lead - volunteering opportunity

We're seeking a History Scenario Vice Lead for the MRCPCH Clinical exam. You'll join the MRCPCH Clinical Committee, which oversees and reviews performance data and operational team delivery feedback on this exam in both the UK and internationally.

The MRCPCH Clinical Committee oversees the quality, delivery and governance of the MRCPCH Clinical examination, reviewing performance data, assessment content and operational feedback to ensure standards are fair, robust and aligned with regulatory requirements.

As History Scenario Vice Lead, you'll support the development, review and quality assurance of history-based scenarios, working closely with the History Lead to ensure scenarios meet regulatory and equality standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with the History Lead and RCPCH Theory & Standards team to plan and schedule work across the year including work planning before, during and after 
    Assessment and Recruitment Content Hub events (ARCHE)
  • Support in the selection of scenarios from the scenario bank
  • Support in overseeing peer review for all components (candidate information, role-player information, examiner information)
  • Review exam performance and recommend appropriate revisions to assessment materials and procedures
  • Receive scenario feedback and amendments and select any relevant information that needs to be addressed to the whole scenario group
  • Support in proof-reading scenarios to ensure that role-player and examiner guidance for each scenario is suitable/appropriate, and in line with regulatory 
    requirements
  •  Ensure that consideration is given to equality and diversity factors in relation to content, language, and formatting before signing-off of each scenario in line with 
    regulatory requirements
