Update - 26 March 2020
You can now read our page, COVID-19 - impact on our examinations: FAQs.
Update - 23 March 2020
We have taken the extremely difficult but necessary decision to postpone all scheduled MRCPCH and DCH examinations in the UK and internationally from now until the end of August 2020. This includes two upcoming theory exams, AKP on 13 May and FOP/TAS on 17 June.
Update - 19 March 2020
We are trying our best to ensure that candidates will be able to take their exams as soon as is practically possible while also making serious considerations into how best to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of our exam candidates and frontline healthcare professionals during this most challenging of times.
Due to this we will not open the 17 June Foundation of Practice (FOP) and Theory and Science (TAS) application window from 23 March as scheduled.
We will update our website as soon as we have more information on this exam and application window, and on other upcoming MRCPCH and DCH exams.
Update - 17 March 2020
We are continuing to prepare for all scheduled MRCPCH and DCH examinations over the coming months.
The application window for the Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) 2020.2 (13 May 2020) is now closed. The June MRCPCH UK Clinical application window is currently open and the Foundation of Practice and Theory and Science (FOP/TAS) 2020.2 (17 June 2020) is scheduled to open on 23 March.
Candidates who have booked theory or clinical exams are urged to delay booking any related travel or accommodation until closer to the time of the exam or, alternatively, to only book fully refundable options. We caution candidates, particularly those who plan to sit exams in countries heavily affected by the outbreak, that test centres may be subject to last minute changes or cancellations. Should any exam events be cancelled then the Exams Team will be in contact with all candidates with more information as soon as possible.
On 10 February the Foundation of Practice/Theory and Science examinations scheduled for 12 February at test centres in Singapore and Hong Kong were cancelled. A number of overseas MRCPCH Clinical exams have also recently been cancelled, including in Hong Kong (February), Egypt (March), Jeddah (March), Sudan (March), Nepal (April) and Singapore (May). Candidates for these exams have been informed and details of future exam event opportunities at these centres will be provided as soon as possible.
We will continue to monitor the situation and we will notify candidates if there are any further changes or updates. We are currently engaging with all key stakeholders in relation to the coming DCH UK Clinical exams (April), AKP (May), MRCPCH Clinical UAE (May), FOP/TAS (June), MRCPCH UK Clinical (June) and MRCPCH Clinical exams in Malaysia, Jeddah and Egypt (June). We will provide updated information as soon as it is available.
