Our activities include evaluating the implementation of professional standards and national guidance through clinical audit and highlighting variation to support clinical improvement at local, regional and national levels.

We work in partnership with charitable and professional bodies, as well as children, young people, parents and carers with our RCPCH &Us programme.

We are currently commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) to deliver three national clinical audits as part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP):

This case study was included in the 2017 National Neonatal Audit Programme annual report to highlight how a neonatal unit has used its results from the National Neonatal Audit Programme as a basis to identify and implement local quality improvement activities.
